Elizabeth and Evan
Elizabeth Wartluft
Elizabeth has taught Argentine tango for eleven years. She has spent three summers in Buenos Aires intensively studying and dancing in local milongas. Her dancing and teaching are inspired by her main teachers: Luciana Valle, Chicho and Lucia, Oscar Mandagaran of Forever Tango, Fabian Salas, Tete and Silvia, Omar Vega, and Gustavo Naveira. Her other best teachers have been old milongueros in the milongas: just dancing with them is an education! She is currently finishing her M.A. thesis on gender roles in tango in Buenos Aires. Elizabeth teaches tango classes at the University of Oregon which are open to community members as well as students. She teaches small group and individual classes. Email her at ewartluf@gmail.com or call 345-5031 for more info.

To her teaching approach, she brings her experience as a language teacher, her creativity as a published author and her knowledge of the mind and body connection through many years of yoga, gymnastic, Pilate and other disciplines.

She likes to inspire her students by finding creative approaches to teach them about postures, and connection to their partners and the music.

She teaches Tango at the Tango Center and is available for group, private lessons and events. Contact: 541-485-6647 TangoBohemio@aol.com

Rebecca and Andrew
Rebecca is a long-time local Eugene tango dancer. She has studied tango wherever her travels have taken her, from Europe to New York and across the Pacific Northwest. She believes that followers should be active and equal participants in the creation of each unique dance and that diversity in style and community is the foundation of tango evolution.
Andrew has studied tango both in the United States and abroad and brings this tango experience and his musicality to the teaching of tango as a social dance in Eugene. He believes that the soul of tango is the connection between partners and between the dancers and the music, and teaches methods of developing those connections. He also believes that the Tango, like all living things, is organically developing, changing and adapting to fit the needs of the Tango dancers in the place and time they inhabit.
Both Andrew and Rebecca are available for private and small group lessons, in addition to the classes they teach weekly at the Tango Center. They can be reached at 554-5898, or awm@workspot.net
